DEREK WALLIS WRITING IN THE DAILY MIRROR 29TH JANUARY 1976 Manchester City the League Cup finalists, had their dreams of a double Wembley appearance destroyed in a sensational game at the Victoria Ground last night. Both sides were down to ten men when Jimmy Greenhoff snatched victory for Stoke with a goal ten minutes from time in the 4th round FA Cup tie.
