A persuasive Billy McNei1l got the official to carry on, and no wonder as City were well on top, and an abandoned game would have been a severe setback. All the goals came in the second half, May opening the scoring by knocking in a Power comer (55 mins.) and eight minutes later, Caton blasted home from 25 yards following Tolmie’s short free-kick. Kinsey made it 3-0 ten minutes from the end, and Cross scored a consolation goal for Town before the final whistle.
