PETER GARDNER WRITING IN THE MANCHESTER EVENING NEWS Billy McNeill blasted Manchester City's pre-season tour as a "joke" today. The Maine Road boss slammed the standard of te amateur West German team beaten by the Blues, who are left with just two more games before the new season starts in a fortnight's time. "You could pick better pub sides to play in England", stormed McNeill after City had sent their goals tally soaring to 22 in last night's 6-0 stroll against Wolfsburg. It might make impressive reading back home, but McNeill is rightly far from happy. Describing it as "sheer farce", the City boss added "This has been no real test for us. You could go to sleep playing in some of the games"...
