FROM A REPORT IN THE GUARDIAN 5TH NOVEMBER 1973
…A draw must have pleased City’s acting manager, Tony Book. Wolverhampton are in a lowly position at present but they give little away and to take a point from Molyneux is always creditable. City, indeed, might have won both points if Francis Lee, a rival with Dougan as the game’s outstanding forward, had had a little better luck with his shooting: and if Parkes in the Wolverhampton goal, had not been in such excellent form.
…In defence Pardoe, a regular member of the side now that Book has taken over as manager, had an assured game and he was well supported by the commanding Booth.
