WHAT THE PAPERS SAID
.

 DAILY STAR (PETER OAKES)
Alex Williams hardly had a moments peace. A tricky wind made his job even more difficult and gave the experienced defenders in front of him blustery nightmares. But Williams coped with everything and two saves in particular, from a Colin Barnes piledriver and then a goalbound Frank Sheridan header, kept City level.

daily express (COLIN BATEMAN)

Towering centres rained in on Alex Williams goal and only desperate clearances by Tommy Caton and Nicky Reid kept the scores level in the first half. Torquay were there only worst enemy in the end, squandering countless chances on a thrilling night for the Devon fans. Striker John Sims was the major culprit. Three times in the space of 5 minutes just after the break he found himself in good positions and each time he failed to test goalkeeper Williams.
