Manchester City saw their First Division title hopes go on the slide against Stoke City at the Victoria ground today.
City, chasing a second away win of the season, dropped behind after 44 minutes through Ian Moores. And with Stoke producing all the football City hit further trouble in the heavy going when Alan Hudson grabbed Stoke’s second after 66 minutes.
Moores claimed the third for Stoke after 82 minutes and Geoff Hurst put the nail in City’s coffin with the fourth after 85 minutes.
It was a sad show from City, whose defence had to soak up a lot of punishment. Only Asa Hartford, back after injury, showed anything like real form.
