RODNEY MARSH ADDS CITY’S SECOND
It was an emotional day for Glyn Pardoe as he played his first game for nearly two years after his leg was broken in a Manchester derby clash.
City didn’t particularly play out of their skin, indeed the scoreline may have been more down to a very poor Rams performance with some players maybe with an eye on their prospective European Cup tie in midweek rather than putting a shift in at Maine Road.
The Blues first came from Frank Carrodus who headed home as Rodney Marsh challenged the Derby Custodian Boulton.
Marsh himself poked in City’s second after Boulton dropped Franny Lee’s corner.
Colin Bell got on the scoresheet tapping home from a few feet. Lee should have made it 4-0 after referee gave handball in the box, however the player nicknamed Lee One Pen unusually blasted the ball well wide of the post.
It was left to Rams defender Colin Todd to score City’s fourth as he turned Mike Summerbee’s cross into his own net.
