Stevie Ireland is swamped by the team after his winner
WHAT THE PRESS SAID
NEIL WARNOCK blew his top with Sky TV at half time in the Bramall Lane tunnel after they told referee Mark Clatteuburg he missed Reb Kozluk’s punch off the line.
Warnock gave Sky personnel a piece ef his mind after Clattenburg had asked if replays proved City should have had a penalty. An angry Warnock said: “’The TV people told the referee it was a penalty. That’s unprofessional and just not acceptable. I don’t think a referee should he mentally tried with statements like that at half time. That’s totally out of order and I told the TV people and the referee that.”
City boss Stuart Pearce hailed the “Outstanding” midfielder Stephen Ireland after his winner. “We’ve been trying to encourage him to be a bit more selfish. He tends te pass when he should shoot,” said Pearce. “When he does that we might see a player on the Premiership scene.”
