FROM AN ARTICLE BY JOHN MADDOCKS, PUBLISHED IN THE CITY PROGRAMME 6TH MAY 1989
… The already-relegated Cambridge United were the visitors and the Blues were bent on sending home the fans with some goals to savour in the close season. City scored five times, man-of-the-match Power being involved in all three scored before the break.
His corner was nodded in by Tolmie after a Bond flick-on, and two minutes later Moyes failed to get another Power corner away, May slamming the ball past Greygoose from 18 yards. It was a Power cross that enabled Baker to notch the third from close in. Kinsey came on for Parlane in the 56th minute and celebrated his arrival by lobbing Greygoose soon after, and it was fitting that Power should get the fifth, knocking in a cross from Kinsey with 13 minutes left.
