This was a benefit match to reward the Scottish club’s Captain Harry Ferguson for his ten years of loyalty. The match raised £120 for his benefit.

    City’s final two goals came in the last 10 minutes.

    For St Johnstone Welsh was at right-back and Tennant at outside-right.

    For City Tilson was at 9 and Heale at 10.

    Attendance was 5,500.

    Referee was Peter Craigmyle of Aberdeen.

    Captains were Harry Ferguson and Matt Busby.
