Any inquest on Manchester City can have only one verdict, they committed soccer suicide.
The Blues collapsed and died from self-inflicted wounds because they substituted the wrong man in a gripping FA Cup 4th round tie that was a superb advert for all that is good in the English game.
They replaced Gary Owen for Mike Channon when the man should have been taken off was the ineffective Dennis Tueart whose value to the Maine Road club is diminishing rapidly.
As a self transfer listed player I maintain he should no longer figure in first team plans and should certainly not be considered for Saturday’s derby clash at Old Trafford when City must pick themselves up after crumbling from two major competitions within a disastrous eight days…
