FROM AN ARTICLE BY JOHN MADDOCKS PUBLISHED IN THE CITY PROGRAMME 14TH APRIL 1990
A 1-1 draw was achieved in a tense and niggly game at Maine Road against Aston Villa who had three players booked and one of those, Geddis, was sent off near the end for a second bookable offence. It was Geddis who gave Villa the lead minutes before the break, Tony Morley centering from the left and Geddis firing home past Corrigan with all the room in the world.
Deyna again proved the main threat to ‘keeper Rimmer who foiled both the Pole and Ranson before Power snatched a City equaliser. Reeves fired in a Henry centre, Rimmer parried, and Power was on hand to score from close range. City then came near to ending the depressing run but with 5 minutes left, Daley elected to shoot over from 10 yards.
