BOOK MEN ARE GREAT

Manchester City showed championship form. But manager Tony Book refused to make predictions.
“I like to base my judgement on away games,” said Book. “And we have a couple of difficult ones coming up at Middlesbrough and Carlisle. We shall know then whether we are really in contention for the title.”
Asa Hartford, Rodney Marsh, Dennis Tueart, Colin Bell and Alan Oakes, however, played with the flair that separates the great teams from the good.
City had luck with them when they took a 38th minute lead as Liverpool reckoned Marsh handled before shooting past Ray Clemence. Marsh’s firm “No comment” merely added to the suspicion. Tueart drove the second four minutes from time.
