Manchester City gave First Division title contenders Ipswich Town the fright of their lives at Maine Road, and Gerry Gow was again their inspiration.
Gow struck his fourth goal in five games to earn the Blues a share of the spoils after they had trailed for most of the game.
Flying Dutchman Arnold Muhren put the skids under City with a goal after 13 minutes as Ipswich displayed the fine flowing football that has kept them in the title hunt.
But fighting City couldn’t be kept out of it and Gow turned up trumps again as he moved in for a deserved equaliser after 75 minutes.
City lost Dennis Tueart after 53 minutes with a recurrence of his hamstring injury, allowing new boy Phil Boyer to come on for his first taste of League action with the Blues.
