City Corrigan. Reid, Ranson, Bond, Caton, Power, Tueart, O’Neill, Hutchison, Hartford, Reeves – sub Hareide(70)
Forest Shilton, Anderson, Gunn, McGovern, Needham, Aas, Proctor, Wallace, Fashanu, Gray, Robertson – sub Walsh(74)
This wasn’t the traditional boring 0-0 draw that the scoreline indicates, both goalkeepers, especially Shilton, kept their sides in the game and the stars outfield were Kevin Reeves for City and Justin Fashanu for Forest.
Early in the first half Kevin Reeves had two excellent headers well saved by Shilton and had a very good claim for a penalty turned down by Mr Redfearn.
The first chance of the game however fell to Forest’s Robertson, he was put through one on one with Joe Corrigan, however the City custodian blocked the Scot’s shot.
The only other real chance was a deflected John McGovern shot that went inches wide of Corrigan’s post.
