Manchester City’s disastrous run of home results continued against Shrewsbury Town at Maine Road today.
They slumped to their fifth successive home defeat, despite taking a 20th minute lead through a Paul Lake penalty.
The Blues were never comfortable, and paid the penalty for a sloppy performance when Dave Moyes struck twice for Shrewsbury within the space of five minutes in the second half. And Doug Bell (89 minutes) made it a 3-1 humiliation for City.

  1. WAS at this game one of the most memorable football matches I ever attended.. I was 13 and my uncle took me and it’s one of my fondest memories of him .. Shrewsbury scorers David Moyes 2 and Dougie Bell with a late break away goal after Town trailed at half time to a Lake penalty .. great memories

  2. One of the great away victories of our decade long stay inn Div 2, I seem to remember some of the local “yoof” being less than pleased with the result such was their determination to join the celebrations of the 100 or so Salopians there to witness this historic occasion
