Manchester City fired smoothly on all cylinders as they took their Swedish tour record to an impressive 20 goals in four straight wins.
Striker Paul Moulden, Wayne Biggins and Trevor Morley led the scoring surge with two apiece in the most convincing success so far.
Now the Blues move on to Finland this weekend for what will be the toughest test of all here in Scandinavia against First Division Wasa BK on Tuesday.
“Even then we still have a lot of work to do.” team manager Mel Machin admitted today.
“There has been a steady rate of progress achieved since we arrived in Sweden a week ago and I see a pattern slowly beginning to emerge. Certainly the way the goals have flowed has been impressive although we nevertheless must realistically stand back and consider the standard of the opposition.
The real test will come when we return home for matches at Carlisle, Stockport and Old Trafford.”
The three front men certainly got stuck in and Biggins in particular looked sharp, hitting the mark with a superb near post volley and then swooping for a full length diving header with his second.
Nigel Gleghorn started the spree with a far post angled drive from David White’s right flanking cross after just seven minutes.
However, the Blues were surprised as OFF quickly countered, for Mats Eriksson to equalise within 60 seconds.
Moulden opened his scoring account for the tourn to give City a narrow half-time lead, but on a greasy pitch and in torrential rain, the Blues’ greater fitness and experience told as the strikers did their job effectively.
