Law’s performance of sheer guts, endeavour and brilliance can seldom have been surpassed at Maine Road… the whole performance of the team however was encouraging and although when Chelsea scored to make it 2-1 there were some anxious moments that a point may be lost, the City performance would not have been flattered had the winning margin been much heavier. The fact that the most dangerously threatened of our relegation rivals were all beaten on the same day added tremendous value to the 2 points gained against Chelsea and combined with the improvement in the team’s display gave the most solid encouragemet for weeks that the club will move up the table to safety
