…Goalless at half-time, it was the second period when the Blues’ dominance shone through. In the 63rd minute Hutchison took a short corner. Kevin Reeves nodded it on for McDonald to score his first goal for the Blues.
Ten minutes from time a Steve Mackenzie effort rebounded off the bar to Hutchison, who scored with an angled shot. The third goal came from a Reeves header, while the fourth was forced home by Hutchison.
Afterwards Bond told the media: “It was an amazing display.” With specific praise for Mackenzie – Allison’s teenage wonder signing – Bond added: “I told him afterwards that as long as he plays for me, I cannot imagine he will ever play a better game than that. He did everything a manager could demand from a midfield player.”
