TREVOR FRANCIS GRABS THE EQUALISER
City were on top for most of the first half against relegation threatened Sunderland, however just before the break The Blues suffered a double set back.
Less devastating was a goal for The Mackems, more devastating was an Achilles injury to leading scorer Dennis Tueart, who missed the rest of the game and will no doubt miss the rest of the season.
Trevor Francis no stranger to Achilles injuries himself stepped up to the mark after the break as he grabbed a brace and City were 2-1 up with just 10 minutes gone in the second half and looked to be coasting to a third win on the trot.
Sunderland manager, Alan Durban, however pulled a master stroke with less than ten minutes to go he brought on youngster Barry Venison who immediately combined with Cunnungham to create an equaliser for Gary Rowell.
The with three minutes to go Venison dramatically grabbed all the points for Sunderland as he volleyed the ball past Joe Corrigan.
IT’S TREVOR FRANCIS AGAIN AS HE STRIKES TO PUT CITY INTO THE LEAD
