Wednesday took the spoils in Division One after a rip roaring contest saw them emerge victors by the odd goal in five. Mark Lillis gave City a 13th minute lead from Paul Simpson’s knockback but the Owls vvere level inside 60 seconds when Garry Thompson headed in Brian Marwoods cross. Wednesday got themselves in front when Gary Megson headed in from Gary Sheltons flick on. Mel Sterland headed in after Paul Hart flicked on Marwoods corner in the 43rd minute, though Neil McNab’s 25 yarder made for a nervous last quarter.
