Manchester City scorched into double figures with crackshot Paul Stewart grabbing five goals against Swedish team Rundvik.
City were in blistering form as they raced to a 10-0 victory but the opposition was poor.
New team boss Mel Machin said: “It was nevertheless an extremely useful workout and it certainly got us into the habit of scoring goals.”
City got into their stride after only 30 seconds with David White turning the ball in after after a home defender had failed to clear.
White and Stewart linked for Ian Brightwell to score the second after 17 minutes, and eight minutes later Stewart scored the first of his nap hand.
City’s £200,000 striker scored further goals in the 30th and 44th minutes to give the Blues a 5-0 half-time lead.
Ian Scott made it six, four minutes after the break and 10 minutes later Stewart struck the seventh with a fine header.
John Gidman made it eight in the 67th minute with a curling free kick, Paul Moulden, one of two second half subs, was on the mark after 73 minutes and Stewart hit his fifth and City’s 10th nine minutes from the end of a runaway victory.
