ANTOINE SIBIERSKI PUTS CITY 1-0 UP
The performance at Leicester wasn’t one of our better ones, despite our bright start when Antoine Sibierski headed us in front, but it wasn’t going to be that sort of match where we could get the ball down and play.
Leicester had three up front and we had to deal with their aerial threat and the pressure they put on our young reserve goalkeeper Kevin Ellegaard. He coped very well and was unlucky with the equalising goal because Les Ferdinand’s free kick took a deflection.
At 1-1 I am sure most people thought we were heading for another defeat but we found it in us to win the match with two late goals from Nicolas Anelka and Jon Macken, and the prize of a very attractive home tie against Tottenham.
