WHAT THE PRESS SAID
TheTimes

The fog had lifted and the snow never fell as all potential excuses were wiped off City’s agenda. Having allowed themselves to slide onto the back foot in the home leg, Keegan prefaced the return leg by emphasising how good conditions were.
…With 16 minutes remaining Anelka finally escaped the shackles. This, surely, was his moment. From 18 yards, right to left, he pulled the trigger, but Mariusz Liberda, the Groclin goalkeeper, caught the bullet. It was the last chance for Keegan’s first choice strikers, and City soon after, were out.
