MARC VIVIEN FOE IS REMEMBERED BEFORE THE GAME
.
WHAT THE PRESS SAID
.
They came to the Valley in anticipation of a virtuoso performance from one of football’s great mavericks and got just what they expected. Unfortunately for Charlton’s long suffering fans it was Nicolas Anelka who turned on the magic while Paolo di Canio was confined to the stands in suit and tie.
…Anelka and City ripped them to shreds. The Frenchman scored one and set up two with the sort of performance which reminds you just why he has played for Arsenal, Real Madrid and Liverpool. Mark Irwin THE SUN 18th August 2003
