Another goalless draw followed, this one down at Brighton. The pattern of the game was very similar to the Cup tie, City dominating the play for long periods yet unable to turn their dominance into goals.
They overcame an early upset, losing Baker after only 9 minutes, but sub. Darren Beckford played amirably in his place. The nearest we came to scoring were efforts from Power, forcing Moseley into making a marvellous save, and Baker who hit a post in the opening minutes.
A further setback was a booking for McCarthy, his 6th of the season. lt would mean a three-match ban for the Eire defender.
