Manchester City, still looking for their first away point of the season, suffered a crushing 4-0 defeat against champions Arsenal at Highbury.
Perry Groves gave Arsenal a 20th minute lead from a cross by full back Lee Dixon following a corner by Brian Marwood.
A minute after the break Michael Thomas made it 2-0 and Groves got his second after 65 minutes. Paul Merson hit number four.
